Akshara Catering ("Akshara," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This page explains what personal information we collect when you use this website or submit a booking inquiry, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and who else — if anyone — sees it.
What we collect
When you submit the booking inquiry form on our Contact page, we collect:
- Your full name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Event details you provide — event date, guest count, event type, any message you write, and any menu items you added to your enquiry list while browsing the Menu page
We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect payment or card information through this website — see "Payment data" below.
Why we collect it
We use this information solely to process your catering inquiry and any resulting booking: to contact you about your event, plan menus and quantities, coordinate logistics, generate a deposit payment link once a booking is confirmed, and keep a record of the booking for our own business purposes (e.g. accounting, order history, and future correspondence with you about the same event).
We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell it. See "We never sell your data" below.
How long we keep it
Booking records are, by default, retained indefinitely as part of our normal business records — the same way a shop keeps a copy of past invoices. There is no automatic deletion of active or completed bookings.
If a booking is cancelled, we mark it with a three-year retention window from the date it was created. After that window passes, a monthly internal review flags the cancelled booking for the business owner to review and, where appropriate, delete manually — this is a soft marker for review, not an automatic deletion.
You can ask us to delete your booking record at any time — for example, if you'd like your inquiry removed after an event is long over. Email hello@aksharacatering.online with your name and approximate inquiry date, and we will delete the record manually. Because we are a small, single-admin operation, deletion requests are handled by hand rather than through an automated self-service tool — we aim to complete deletion requests promptly.
We never sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for their marketing purposes, ever. Your information is used only by Akshara Catering to fulfil your inquiry and booking.
Payment data — handled entirely by Cashfree
If your booking reaches the deposit stage, we send you a payment link generated through Cashfree, our payment gateway partner. When you pay a deposit, you enter your card or payment details directly on Cashfree's secure hosted checkout page — that information never touches Akshara's own servers or database. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded (or failed) and a reference ID for our records. We never see, store, or have access to your full card number or other sensitive payment instrument details.
Anti-spam checks
Our booking form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly challenge that helps us tell real visitors apart from automated spam submissions, plus a hidden field that flags automated bots. Neither is used to track you across other websites.
Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, what information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion, by emailing hello@aksharacatering.online.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
This policy is written in plain language to be genuinely useful to visitors, and reflects our actual data practices as implemented in our systems. It should still receive a final review from a qualified legal professional before the site's public launch, to confirm compliance with all applicable law in the jurisdictions we operate in.
