Our story
Akshara Catering started with a simple frustration: too much event food in Hyderabad tastes like it was made for a hundred weddings at once — safe, bland, and nothing like the food people actually grew up eating. We set out to do the opposite. Every menu we cook draws on Andhra and Telangana home cooking — the kind with hand-ground masalas, slow simmered curries, and a Gongura, Pesarattu, and biryani spread that tastes like a family kitchen, not a hotel banquet line.
That commitment has shaped how we work: our kitchen team arrives at your venue hours ahead of time and cooks on-site, rather than reheating trays prepared days earlier. It costs us more effort, but it is the only way we know to get flavor, aroma, and texture right on the day it matters.
Our cuisine philosophy
We specialize in South Indian and Andhra-Telangana cuisine — the food we know best. That means real tamarind and gongura in our curries, wood-and-stone-ground chutneys, rice varieties chosen to suit the dish, and a spice hand calibrated to Telugu kitchens rather than toned down for a generic banquet palate. We also build vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and Jain-friendly options into every menu from the start, so dietary needs are never an afterthought — and we're glad to tune spice levels for your guests without losing the character of the dish.
The people behind the food
Our team is made up of cooks, servers, and event coordinators who have spent years working Hyderabad weddings, corporate events, and family celebrations. Many of our kitchen staff cook the same recipes at home that they cook for your event — that continuity is what keeps the food tasting genuine, event after event.
